I decided to review the 100 closest games by point spread on Drew Pasteur’s Fantastic 50 website. I also added a couple games into the respective honorable mention districts due to out-of-state opponents being featured. My apologies for having this out a little late. I’ve been ‘under the weather’ for a while now.
Welcome back for Heart of Ohio Sports’ third season of The 10 Best Games to See in Ohio.
Based off of feedback from last season, I’m focusing more this season on trying to find games that will be close in score more than ‘premier matchups’. It’s a hard task because you can’t predict the future, but I’m going to give it my best.
Midway through last season, I began to feature a game from each district as an honorable mention selection. The Northwest district’s top pick is featured in our local games so I will add an additional game to the honorable mention due to that this week. That same precedent will continue if and when it happens again.
I can’t wait to get back on the sidelines and watch some football.
Thanks for coming back, and I wanted to add that I really appreciate you all taking the time to give me your feedback. This is the second season that we've done this preview, and each year I want to get closer to picking them all correct. Here we go...
Welcome back everyone! Thanks again to Drew Pasteur's Fantastic 50, Joe Eitel, MaxPreps, 247sports, OhioHSHelmts, and many others who make this article possible. Thanks to Nate Mullins of Heart of Ohio Sports for allowing me a platform to write this article each week. Finally, thank YOU for reading. I'm considering doing a playoff edition next week, but we'll see who all gets in locally.
I want to thank ohiohshelmets.com for the work that they do over there. Without their hard work, these articles wouldn’t have the great graphics that I make every week for these matchups. So thank you.
Another great week of tough matchups to choose from.
Here we go heading into week two. Five of the ten games picked last week were decided by a touchdown or less—including the each of the number one games.
Welcome back high school football fans. I want to say thank you for coming back for the second season of The Five Best Games to See article series. This week’s edition is coming out later than usual. It will be coming out Monday mornings for the remainder of the season.
I hope your school and all schools have a safe, sportsmanlike, and competitive season in 2025.
