I decided to review the 100 closest games by point spread on Drew Pasteur’s Fantastic 50 website. I also added a couple games into the respective honorable mention districts due to out-of-state opponents being featured. My apologies for having this out a little late. I’ve been ‘under the weather’ for a while now.
THE 10 BEST GAMES TO SEE IN OHIO - WEEK EIGHT By Kyle Holsinger Welcome back, readers! I opened up the selection of games to a wider range than an eight-point spread. This week, I tried to consider the top 100 closest point spreads on Drew Pasteur’s Fantastic 50 website. I hope that can make […]
Welcome back for another edition of The 10 Best Games to See in Ohio. As we get midway through the regular season, conference play has begun and the playoff picture is starting to develop. Last week, we had seven of the ten featured games decided by 10 points or less. Let’s hope we can improve on that.
Welcome back, y’all! Most teams are getting into their conference play, and we’re starting to see teams develop and grow from the first week of the season.
For the first three weeks, I use teams win-loss record from last season as a factor to decide which games to pick so this is the first time this year that this year’s win-loss count has been factored.
Thank you all for reading this year's series of Heart of Ohio Sports Prep Pigskin Preview. Please check in on Mondays during the season when we release our weekly The 10 Best Games to See in Ohio. The article features my picks for the five best local and five best games around the state of Ohio to watch that weekend.
I only correctly picked Columbus Grove to win a region last year in Division VII. Here we go...
Welcome back for the Division VI preview. Last season, I picked Regions 21, 22, and 24 correctly and also picked Kirtland correctly as champ.
My apologies for having it out several hours late. My laptop wouldn't cooperate this morning before work. Division VII should be on-time tomorrow morning.
As we dive into the third installment of the Heart of Ohio Sports Prep Pigskin Preview. One thing that I want to point out is how many great coaches that we have in the Buckeye State. When researching these teams, I've found that there's a lot of ways to come into a head coaching position, and every community finds the right coach for them in different ways, but when the right coach meets the right community some real magic can happen.
Thanks for coming back, and I wanted to add that I really appreciate you all taking the time to give me your feedback. This is the second season that we've done this preview, and each year I want to get closer to picking them all correct. Here we go...
Lots of great games this week. A lot of conference titles are up for grabs still throughout the area and state.
So, I dialed back competitiveness to 33.3% with rankings, combined wins, and top recruits to 22.2% each. We’ll see how this week turns out. My sources for the data and information used to compile the game list is JoeEitel.com, fantastic50.net, 247sports.com, and maxpreps.com along with individual school or league websites. Also, the honorable mention for the state games will now be one game per district to try to feature at least one game from each district in the state.
