Welcome back for week five of the season. We’ve had some great games so far, and it’s been really tough again to put these lists together with so many quality matchups to choose from.
Here we go heading into week two. Five of the ten games picked last week were decided by a touchdown or less—including the each of the number one games.
Welcome back high school football fans. I want to say thank you for coming back for the second season of The Five Best Games to See article series. This week’s edition is coming out later than usual. It will be coming out Monday mornings for the remainder of the season.

Kickoff of the first games of the 2025 OHSAA high school football season are 50 days away from today. Locally, the first games will be Calvert visiting Mohawk, Colonel Crawford traveling to Milford Center to face Fairbanks, and River Valley at Elgin on Thursday evening, Aug. 21. All of those games are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
