My apologies for getting this article out a few hours later than usual. The first three weeks of the season, I use some metrics from last season’s teams until enough data has built up to properly judge this year’s version of each respective school’s team. Starting this week, that switches and there’s a lot of work that goes into that switch. Kickoff of the first games of the 2025 OHSAA high school football season are 50 days away from today. Locally, the first games will be Calvert visiting Mohawk, Colonel Crawford traveling to Milford Center to face Fairbanks, and River Valley at Elgin on Thursday evening, Aug. 21. All of those games are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
