Welcome back everyone for the beginning of the 2025 high school football season. I’m excited to get back on the sidelines to cover some games in the coming weeks. 

During the season, I do not make any picks or predictions publicly in case I end up getting sent to cover that game on short notice. That being said, the following series of articles are my preseason predictions to win all 28 regions, and my picks for state champions in each of the seven divisions in OHSAA 11-man football this season. Kickoff of the first games of the 2025 OHSAA high school football season are 50 days away from today. Locally, the first games will be Calvert visiting Mohawk, Colonel Crawford traveling to Milford Center to face Fairbanks, and River Valley at Elgin on Thursday evening, Aug. 21. All of those games are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

There was a packed house at Mohawk High School last night, and all the electricity in the air that you’d expect as the Northern 10 Conference boys basketball title hung in the balance between its top two teams: Mohawk and Colonel Crawford.

Both teams did not disappoint either; duking it out like prizefighters until the very end with the Eagles edging the Warriors on the road in overtime, 60-56.
